Did you hear about this guy who wants to go to all the Starbucks stores in the world? I love his website. He's actually been to Montreal. He went to a store right near mine. There are pictures on his website. Of course, he didn't come to ours because we are a licensed store and not an official Starbucks branch, since we are inside a bookstore. Poo. Anyway, I thought that was funny.
Yesterday was hilarious. The boss of the boss of MY boss was at our store. He flew in from Toronto because they are closing another store nearby, so he decided that since he had some free time he would come and work with us. Probably because he is upper management, hasn't worked in an actual store in seven years, and wanted to get back to basics. Anyway.
My boss had NO idea he was coming. Usually when the Big Overlords come to visit, he schedules more people to work so he can spend time with the Big Overlords in the back room. But there was only me, and a trainee who JUST started, so he had to work. The big boss loved it. He was like, so enthusiastic about everything.
"Oh my gosh, you guys sell sandwiches here now? That's great. How are they selling? Wow. Wonderful."
"Ooh, I love these juices. They are so good and so healthy. Have you tried them?"
"Wow, we put vanilla syrup in the whipped cream? What a great idea! We never did that before, but now that I see it, it's genius!"
No, guy. It's not genius, it's just a good idea. Calm down before you hyperventilate.
I am so nice to my co-workers. I take their shifts whenever they want me to. Case in point : I am closing tonight because I took someone shift, and then another girl called to ask if I could take her opening shift tomorrow. I could've said "hell no, that would give me about 5 hours of sleep!"
But instead, because I am nice, I said "If you don't find anyone else to take it, I will, no problem at all."
Now I'm just hoping she finds someone else to take it, because goddamnit, I like to sleep.
See y'all later.
