I'm not understanding the whole Schiavo thing. I mean, I have looked around, and have decided that the parents are a little wacko and they have deluded themselves into thinking their daughter is stillthe same person, so I think the feeding tube removal was a good idea, but there's still another thing.
If the parents are so convinced that Terri reacts to what they say and is not a vegetable, why has the court blocked them from giving her food? I mean, actual solid food. I'm against keeping her alive with machines, but if her parents want to take her home and spoon feed her for the next twenty years and she can survive that, than they should be allowed to. Now, some people say she's PVS and her family says she isn't, so I don't really know if she COULD eat, but I still don't understand why ALL food has ben cut off. The tube, sure. But dying because they are not giving her food and dying because she CAN'T eat food are two different things, the former much crueler than the latter.
I'll be happy when this is off the news.
