My mom laughed at me this morning.
See, we are on this diet together. Well, not so much a diet as just watching what we eat. And she cooks me lots of low-calorie tasty things. It's a win-win situation really (mostly for me ...)
So we started right after New Year's, because that seems like a good time to start a diet, right? At the same time as 20 bazillion other people? Right.
Our first goal was 10 pounds in one month. And guess what? I made it, she didn't! Okay, I probably shouldn't gloat, because she has been watching me like a hawk, packing my lunches and making my dinner and stuff, and since she works from home there is no one to watch her or make her healthy lunches, so this is probably tougher on her.
Still, it's hard not to be bitter when you've lost 10 pounds and your mom still weighs less than you. My mom and I are the same height, the same all around body type, and she weighs less than me.
My mom. Yeah, you heard me. I am ashamed.
SO my next goal is weighing less than my mom, and I told her, and she laughed at me. But it was more of a nervous laugh like "Uh oh, I should probably start being careful or she'll beat me!"
Yeah yeah, weight loss is not a competition, but I WANNA WIN, damnit.
The Notebook DVD comes out in 3 days! Buy it for me??
