I went to the mall yesterday, to go prom shoe shopping. I was sort of worried because I know nothing about pretty shoes. I've never worn any, so I had no idea how they would look on me.

So I went to a couple of stores and looked around. I had my mind set on some type of black strappy sandal deal, because although my dress is pink I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to match it properly.

Actually, you know how shoe brands always copy off of each other? So all the stores had pink leather shoes that were the same shade. I actually bought a evening bag in that colour and it matches my dress perfectly, so theoretically I could've gone with the pink shoes. But then again, I don't want to go TOO pink, and I want to wear these again.

So as I was saying, I did a couple of stores and tried on a couple of pairs. I found a pair that I really like and, despite being high heels, they were actually not killing my feet, so I ventured over to the mirror to take a peek.

All of a sudden is was like BLAM! Look at that arch, those dainty little feet, those long calves ... These shoes have some kind of magic power. My big lumbering size 10-wide feet looked ... cute. Sexy. I was in love.

Okay, so they are pretty much your run-of-the-mill black strappy sandals, but I love them. I've been told I'm gonna have to wear them LOTS to break them in and learn how to walk without looking like a enema'ed penguin, but I love wearing them so much that probably won't be a problem.

Don't worry, I've heard all the high heels/arthritis stories, and trust me, I'm definitely not going to be wearing these long enough to give myself a life-long problem.

But they are just so goddamn CUTE!

As I said, I also bought a pretty pink evening bag. It's not quite a clutch (I hate clutches ... so cumbersome) cause it has this sort of wrist loop deal on the side. So at least it's not a purse either. Wouldn't want to look old now.

I tried combining the shoes and the bag with my dress and I look just daahh-ling. All I need now is some nice long black gloves to complete my outfit.
