Happy birthday to me!
I'm ... 103?
No, actually, I'm only sixteen. Sweet sixteen. I always thought I'd have a big party for this, but it doesn't seem that important anymore.
So ... I spoke of the prom date dilemma in the last entry. I have a mild, yet interesting update on that subject.
I am going to the prom. With a date!
Yes, he actually asked me. We were talking one morning and he brought it up again, told me he was totally serious about asking me. He also told me I was "his only friend who doesn't have a penis." I found that ... flattering? He also begged me to feel sorry for him because he had gouged a hole in his hand while playing basketball ... Anyway, I said yes, andI'm kind of looking forward to it now, even though last year I was set on never, ever going.
This is really good, though, because now it's never as awkward when we talk. It's all been cleared up. We're close friends, he doesn't hate me, it doesn't piss him off when I'm around. It makes it so much easier to just go and hang around with him and his friends.
So, for my birthday I got a little picture frame with a pretty fairy tale illustration in it, some very pretty flowery shoe clips, a little white porcelain box, a black bead purse for my prom outfit, and ....
DRIVING LESSONS!
I kind of expected it, but I wasn't openly begging for them for the last 3 weeks, so it was a surprise. I'm so excited! I'm going to drive! And run over the mean people from school!
Huzzah!
Anyways, I got a very cacophonic rendition of "Bonne Fete" dedicated to me by my classmates, 50$ from the paternal ancestry, and a birthday hug from the prom date.
All in all, a fairly plain yet good birthday. Oh, and I'd like to thank all the folks from dland bdays who came to wish me a happy birthday in my guestbook, I was pleasantly surprised.
Goodnight for now.
